Great hosts! Love the fresh caught and boiled crabs. Captain Watson, Darlene, Chef Carmelita, Monk and John all worked hard to ensure that our group of 6 had a great time. This was our second visit and plan for a two night stay with a group of 8 next time.
We all enjoyed our visit over Spring Break. My youngest son (who loves fishing) said it was the best day of vacation and my older son (who does not typically love fishing) enjoyed it and fished far longer than we have ever seen him! They also loved the dogs and of course Chef Carmelita's food - they have not stopped talking about it! Thanks for some great family memories!
Da Bayou Experience is truly an amazing and unique place to visit as well as the delicious food and accommodations are very clean.Capt. Watson is an amazing person and has a passion for what he does.
My friends and I have been twice now. It’s an extremely relaxing environment with great food and great company. Chef Carmelita is amazing ❤️. Capt.Watson and Darlene are there to meet each and every need you may have. Never experienced life on the Bayou? This is your opportunity - It’s like nothing you’ve ever done before. Watson and his crew are top notch hosts. The camp is a classic Louisiana institution, thousands like his USED to dot the coast. Those structures and the stories held within have all but gone away. Watson keeps this light on for you. They place should be in the Smithsonian. When you arrive the place is pristine and the team ready to cater to your needs. Pick up a fishing pole, relax, get caught up with Mrs. Carmelita, or tear into some boiled crabs. The large covered outside area has you covered. I highly recommend the experience. It’s a must for people who are from Louisiana and anyone looking to understand Thai place better.

One of my favorite vacations the fishing is awesome you can switch from catching trout, to huge drum and redfish. The food is awesome one of the best chef's around if you go, ask for the bread pudding, and gumbo or shrimp n grits they are the best around. Highly recommend a trip here it can be as relaxing or as exciting as you want, it's truly up to you. You can lounge around or go on a charter fishing trip fish hard, or not at all. If you are looking for something for your whole family this is your place. I have reserved my next spot and you should too!!
